Summer is officially here and temperatures are forecast to hit 30+ degrees (sometimes feeling closer to 40) early this week. The first summer heatwave can be a stressful time for parents of young children, especially newborn babies.

In this newsletter, you’ll find ideas for things to do to stay cool with your little one(s) this week, both indoors and outdoors.

☀️ Tips for keeping baby cool in the heat:

Go outside early in the morning and/or later in the evening, avoiding the hottest time of the day
Whenever possible, stay in the shade of trees or buildings
Dress your baby in loose-fitting, breathable cotton clothing
Offer plenty of hydration
Use a rechargeable stroller fan to keep the air moving
Wrap an ice/cold pack in a dish towel or blanket and place it between you and baby when babywearing
